The Real Picture

HIV has claimed the lives of millions of people. I will not bog you down with statistics, because just like the last time you read something about HIV you won't remember. You are probably thinking, 'Not another article about AIDS. Yes its a killer disease, whats new?' I am currently in an HIV/AIDS training organized by African Missions Health funded by AIDS Relief (thanks to Bill Clinton that exists). Someone said 'I will sleep when I'm dead.' Whoever he was, it sounds like that's what my body believes. Its a train wreck. Sometimes you forget that your doctor is human too. Sadly, many doctors often forget this too. All the advice and counsel they give their patients, they feel, doesn't apply to them. How many times have you heard of alcoholic doctors or doctors who cannot kick the habit of smoking? Even though they know all the harms and can name in alphabetical order every disease they could get. I know not making time to rest is detrimental to my health, and yet sometimes feel powerless to stop the bad habits. Sick doctors find it hard to admit they are sick                       ...
